This video shows our first idea, Dromos - Venue based navigation. An demo that later became a graph platform and API for context awareness.
Dromos now tracks local urban behaviors, user preferences and context to suggest routes and venues, and to provide data for city planners, event organizers, space owners and regional governments.
As opposed to apps like Waze, Moovit, or Google Maps Navigation, we don't rely on routes, but on local venues. Transportation systems in developing countries still use these venues to navigate, which is confusing, unsafe and unpredictable.
We decided to build a crowdsourced platform to track alternate, cheaper routes and identify safe venues used as informal transfers.
Tracking apps focus on fitness, not safety. We feel data can help us build happier, safer cities.
