Istanbul Design Biennial exhibits the once-upon-a-time existence of Adil Kebap Dürüm, a small kebab business run from a roadside wooden shack in the 'gecekondu' district of Paşa Mahallesi, not so far distant from Beyoğlu. The shack was built by Adil Tekirdağ, a one-time migrant from Urfa, a carpenter and gecekondu builder, and a talented musician playing saz and singing for many years in the clubs and bars of Beyoğlu. For Adil, the shack was for some considerable time his 'bread basket' (ekmek teknesi).
Original video installation is 7 hours long with a split screen showing exact duration along with a sped up version of the shack construction.
