On February 28 and March 1, the City of Killeen Civic & Conference Center & Visitors Bureau, together with the Killeen Independent School District (KISD), hosted a week-long salute to the arts.
One of the many events was a Sculpting Competition.
Sculptors started out with Limestone blocks measuring 12" by 12" by 24" and began sculpting at 9 a.m. on Friday morning. They had until 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon to finish.
Students from KISD came out to see the event on Friday and some even got to carve a little limestone themselves. When the public came to see the Take 190 West Arts Festival, many watch live as the sculptors were completing their piece.
Thank you to all who visited the Take 190 West Arts Festival and to the stone carvers who participated in the sculpting competition.
