“Journey into Womanhood” Artistic Statement
The film explores the psychosexual development of Lewis Carroll’s Alice. Alice falls through multiple Freudian metaphors as she develops from child to woman. Mary Blair’s visuals and color for Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” inspired the look of the film. We played with the visuals and sound design to heighten the experience and draw the audience to the film. The film is part of the Doheny Memorial Library projection mapping program for Visions and Voices’ “Wonderland Unbound” event.
