The problem to solve is the mobility at 60th Street north of the city of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico thus that we have investigated some organisms to solve it. In this project, name Urban Ecology and Interactions, is will emulate the biotic and abiotic interactions of ecological strata of a semi-evergreen forest, to distribute to pedestrians and cars in a better manner. Also, is will change the parasitic relationship that cars have created in the city, where only they have all the preferences, forgetting the comfort and safety for pedestrians. So, to improve interactions, is will change to a commensalism interaction, where the pedestrians will have all the benefits, while the cars won’t be harmed.
The project consists of a pedestrian bridge that emulates these ecological interactions. The bridge uses a removable structure composed of hexagonal modules that give it versatility to its form allowing integrating different contexts respecting the natural elements. The fixed component is a branched structure that is linked to the structural stress and functions as a channel for storing rainwater and it will have solar panels for lighting. Besides reinforcing elements is used as coating materials natural (bamboo and cork) and recycled (pet and glass) to have the least impact on the environment.
