The Whitman Independent in association with the Ithuba Arts Gallery presents the next installment in a series of independent African cinematic and video art exhibits that aims to explore the ever expansive and rapidly developing African lens.
The series of exhibits, consisting of various screenings & discussion panels, provides a voyage into independent/low-budget progressive filmmaking in emerging African states with a core concentration on investigating methods of production, narrative context and the social dynamics that encourage storytelling in fringe African Cinema.
With curated works from the nations of Algeria, Madagascar, South Africa and Tunisia this installment of the expanding series provides an intimate portrait of the contemporary African DIY cinema and the filmmakers who contribute to its heritage.
