On the eternal cycle of life...

After dealing with “Heimat Landschaften” ("Home Landscapes") in 2023, a detailed and in many cases very personal introspective view of living conditions in the immediate vicinity, Off Europa expands its focus from "home" to "world" in 2024.

This year's edition not only aims to describe the present, but also to take a look at the consequences of our way of life. "Schöne Neue Welt"/”Brave New World” allows itself to be polemical and wants to be challenging. With a deliberate compilation of possibly polarising performances, with the help of artists who - apart from their different formal approaches - analyse society, expose double standards, warn against dystopias and or develop utopian potential on stage. We want to give their thoughts and visions some reach and hearing, in the best case to stimulate discussion and discourse and also to make it possible through several performance talks.

2024's Off Europa tells stories of beauty and pain, of endless endeavours and great/genuine passions, and thus of the eternal cycles of life that keep our world and our hope(s) alive.
