SIMÓN ESE, translated from Mexican street slang, means “Alright dude!” It is with this down-to-earth attitude that we approach fashion, rela- tionships, and life. Our goal is to create casual and multicultural street-style fashion based on artistic design and sustainable production. Our motivation is to develop positive, meaningful relationships with all those involved in the design, production, distribution and use of our clothing.
The Spring/Summer 2014 collection is inspired by the scenery of endless and vast landscapes in a time and space beyond human culture.
A palette of whites, with distant red, golden, and light blue brushstrokes, capture meditative and liberating moments alone in the Mexican des- ert. The collection represents a calming of human nature and a clearing of the mind from all active thoughts and feelings. It is reminiscent of this point in which an unexpected inner freedom and happiness arise and take over entire existence.
This process of mental restructuring is represented by asymmetrical cuts and through the layerings of different fabrics. Lightweight, open- stitch knit designs and oversize top-vests express comfort and freedom of mind. Unique graphic prints and batik techniques give an outlook into an ulterior world. Straight cuts and clear basic color lines stand for confidence and subtle coolness. Accents and accessories hand-made with leather, along with fantasy jewelry, underline SIMON ESE’s love for details and its Mexican origin.
