Automated devices tend to do all our thinking for us and generally require attention only when working incorrectly. This is not the case with your irrigation timer. Even the smartest of irrigation controllers that use real-time weather or soil moisture data to inform run-time length, and have flow sensors and internet modems to keep managers informed about field issues, require seasonal attention and adjustment. Why? Because landscaping is not static. If you have a working sprinkler system chances are you have an automated timer. And you may or may not know how to use it. Well, University of Florida's Dr. Michael Dukes is here to help.
