On March 5, 2014 Bourbon (Mo.) police officer Carl Storm began a high-speed pursuit of local citizen and motorist Gary Wenzel. The pursuit allegedly began because of improper license plates and outstanding warrants. The chase reached speeds in excess of 100 mph and lasted about 12 minutes. It ended with Officer Storm shooting Wenzel three times after Wenzel crashed, got out of his car, and approached the patrol car. Wenzel did not display a weapon and did not possess a weapon. He died at the scene. Officer Storm was later cleared at a coroner's inquest, which found that the officer acted justifiably. The Sullivan Journal News filed a lawsuit to obtain the dash-cam video, which you see here in an edited form.
