As a leading international, outdoor brand of Swiss origin Mammut is particularly drawn to mountains. The mountain separating the digital and physical world was no exception. So MRM//McCANN developed an App that would overcome this obstacle and provide customers with a clear route from the home world of pinning and sharing Mammut equipment on social media directly into stores and, more particularly, to specific products within stores, without using their smartphone.
Mammut customers pins and favourites of preferred Mammut equipment are triggered in the app through Social Connect, while entering the store. Than the installed digital infrastructre based on new beacon technology activates the in-store visual guidance system to head them directly to their preferred products.
And Mammut Store employees can now view customers’ shares and pins on their tablets and offer targeted support. Digital displays show additional product recommendations as well as products liked by friends.
Thanks to MRM//McCANN “beacon.store”, ecosystem Social Media is now seamlessly integrated into the real world, without annoying or distracting customers, leaving them free to focus on finding whatever they need. For us, that’s summit attained. And for Mammut customers it’s a new feeling of freedom, almost like reaching the mountain top.
