The cat in the land of repair.
This is a short documentary about Rene Olsen, a man who repairs everything. He lives in Hundested in the north of Zealand, Denmark. Nicknamed “The Cat”, his philosophy is that if a thing was once made then it can be repaired. His companion in life is his cat, and he loves his repair shop. He was born with a deformed hand but it doesn’t bother him at all. In fact, it’s a handy tool and can access places his healthy hand can't. Some years ago he suffered a stroke and lost control of his hand completely. He ordered his hand to work again or he would cut it off. Not long afterwards he experienced feelings in his finger and soon regained control of his hand and arm. The cat and the shop are the most important things in his life.
This documentary was shot entirely with Panasonic GH3 and a Nikkor Ais 35mm f.2. Graded in final cut x with Film Stock from digital film tools.
