This hotel promotional teaser was released last year April 2013 after the completion of Phase 1 of the hotel renovation (8 months). The renovations went on for another 12 months afterwards, including a name change. Due to the name change the video was taken down from their YouTube channel recently, so we are featuring it here instead with the hotel's permission.
In this video Red Epic slow motion shots captured (2) $20K chandelier's being dropped and demolished. It appears that the chandelier would have cost the hotel almost $15k just to take it down piece by piece. Instead they decided just to cut it off and let it fall.
Our job was to timelapse 20 months worth of content and eventually condense it down to a 2 minute final video. We shot manually for many months, however most of the interiors at the beginning stages of the project was shot remotely with an Erdman camera system. Eventually we custom built several ourselves as we needed more coverage at half the cost of the Erdman system.
