Shred for Good hosted a unique and fun event to drive awareness about identity theft and the agency's primary mission to employ individuals with significant disabilities. Shred for Good teamed up with the Jacksonville Jaguars, SMG, and Instaramp to create a "Free Shred Day" event at Everbank Field in Jacksonville, FL on April 24th, 2014. The event played off the dual meaning that the term "shredding" represents in the document destruction industry, as well as the meaning that the term has in the skateboard community. There was a live professional skateboard "shredding" demo on the Instaramp, special appearances by Jaxson De Ville and Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley, Food Trucks and entertainment from DJ Dane Jah.
The event raised awareness for Shred for Good, with the public delivering over 46,000 lbs. of secure documents to destroy. There was a record count of 630 vehicles that drove through the event to securely dispose of unwanted documents.
