For my graduation project in Mechanical Engineering Technology I developed part of the control software for an early form of 3D printing.
The software used an AutoCAD model to create data files. A conceptualized 3d printer would use the data files to precisely pour liquid plastic into mouldings in a multi-stage pour-cure-pour-cure assembly line process. My software identified pouring locations and amounts, and allowed for multiple colours.
The first application was for the printing of PVC shoe soles by tech startup Wetless Aqua Gear of Langley BC.
