Tonada de Luna Llena was originally written and performed by Simon Diaz.
Leonardo performed at a party recently and I was able to capture about 98% of what he did. Some of the early part of the tape was shaky and unfocused as I was unaware of what was about to happen. As soon as I realized this was about to be 'a moment' I set the camera on a table for the steady shot. It was an amazing performance. It made the hair stand up on my arms... I combined this video with some footage I shot at the Georgia Aquarium last year so I could cover the rough beginning. I really like the end result. The jellyfish really give a poetic movement to the very soulful and powerful sounds of the two musicians (the bass player's name is Pedro Giraudo, he is from Cordoba, Argentina).
I was told that Leonardo used to play maracas with Simon Diaz on tour and that he modifies his maracas (made by Mr Teppa in Venezuela) - which he plays better than anyone I've ever heard.
