We are proud to be honoring longtime Jazz Foundation Advisory Committee member and recording industry giant Bruce Lundvall with our Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his enormous contribution to the history and discography of jazz and popular music. In an astounding career spanning 48 years, Bruce Lundvall has been responsible for signing and/or nurturing the careers of a wide array of artists, including Willie Nelson, Herbie Hancock, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, Chucho Valdes, Paquito D'Rivera, Ruben Blades, Dianne Reeves, Richard Marx, Cassandra Wilson, Jason Moran, Anita Bakerand Norah Jones. In the words of saxophonist Dave Koz, "Without Bruce Lundvall, there would be a huge gap in the history of popular music."
