UT Tyler Nursing Students helped those with disabilities of many different kinds; they set up booths with instructional guides to hand out, they physically showed the clients how to do certain things to better their lives, and spent many hours and days dedicating themselves to these people in need. It taught the soon-to-be nurse graduates that nursing was much more than just IV's and catheters. Nursing is about helping people - in countless ways - both in and out of clinical settings. Nursing is not an easy job by any stretch. It takes a very patient, kind, and giving person to fulfill this integral need in our society. This video/slideshow showcases a group of students who proved that they truly cared - this wasn't just another assignment; these nurses went out and put their entire hearts into this project. Countless hours, selfless planning, joyful giving... all given with a genuine smile; the sole purpose to help someone in need - someone they had never met - a stranger turned friend. They're to be commended for their hard work and dedication to not only just nursing but also to society as a whole.
