Citrus Breakfast and Lunch in Virginia Beach Va on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

We are Lance & Cheri Shores, owners of Citrus and partners in life & business. We live in Virginia Beach and are fortunate to have our families local. Lance started in the food and beverage industry when he was sixteen years old bar backing to bartending to owning his own restaurant. I started in the jewelry business when I was attending Randolph Macon College. I worked as a part time salesperson, to store manager to jewelry designer, merchandiser & buyer.

We were given the opportunity to open our own restaurant, Off Shore Bar & Grill in 2003, a year after we married. Off Shore Bar & Grill was a casual fine dining restaurant which transitioned into a local nightlife spot after 10pm. Lance always had a desire to open a breakfast spot even before Off Shore so in 2006, we decided to open Citrus. We reluctantly sold Off Shore Bar & Grill at the end of 2006 and decided to focus all of our energy on Citrus.

I do all of the baking for Citrus and enjoy being creative with the daily specials. Lance enjoys surfing, fishing & hunting. We have three rescue Norwegian Elkhounds that we consider our children. We love dogs and eventually would like to develop a rescue facility to help dogs with medical needs, dogs that have been abused or mistreated and senior dogs. We want to be able to give them the love and care they need in order to have a second chance and find a new loving forever home. We have a dog friendly patio because we believe that dogs are a part of the family and we welcome them all year on the patio.

Lance & I are very blessed to be able to work together and we feel we complement each other and make a great team. Citrus is such a blessing to us. We are so fortunate and grateful for an incredible staff that we consider our extended family and to be surrounded by our wonderful customers on a daily basis.
