White Elephant- An idiom for a valuable but burdensome possession of which its owner cannot dispose and whose cost (particularly cost of upkeep) is out of proportion to its usefulness or worth.
"A drunken one night stand between a pregnant woman and a virgin, leads to much more in the span of a day, as the woman figures out what to do with her pregnancy."
A thesis film for Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD).
This video acts as my first ever attempt at traditional narrative filmmaking, and also as my first ever attempt at directing. The story itself was loosely inspired by Hemingway's- "Hills Like White Elephants"...to which the piece in part get's it's title from in combination with the definition of the term White Elephant as well. For this project I decided to take this script I had worked on the semester prior and to condense it into what could be made into a short film as part of my senior thesis project at Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD). Here's what came from a semester's worth of hard work, dedication, countless headaches, and sleep deprivation...
A huge thanks to my amazing and talented songbird/very good friend Keri Winter who wrote and recorded the original music within this film. And a special thanks to my amazing cast and crew to whom without them this film would have never seen completion or life. Also, special thanks to my instructor Phil Garrett and CCAD on their continued guidance and support.
