At this Theology on the Vine gathering Fr. Mario welcomed special guest Msgr. Jeffrey N. Steenson who shares his personal reflections and insights on the impact of Pope John Paul II.
In 2007 Fr. Jeffrey Steenson was the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande. In 2009 he was ordained a priest of the Roman Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is a full member of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.
In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI released the apostolic constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus. In it, the Pope outlined a means by which Anglicans (individuals or entire parishes) could come into full communion with the Catholic Church, while keeping elements of their spiritual and liturgical tradition.
On January 1, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Msgr. Steenson as the first Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter.
Our Parish of St. Cyril of Alexandria was blessed to have Msgr. Steenson with us for Sunday Masses prior to his elevation to Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.
