Well, it does pretty much what it says on the tin! Basically, this is centred on the idea of Wendy Tilby's work, which I thought was very innovative. She would photocopy photographs from live action, and literally paint over them, adding animal-like features, resulting in animal-like characters, with a human appearance. It's basically a form of rotoscoping, really.
This is what I've done here, using a bit of live action off an old black & white advert about travellers cheques, from a website called Archive, and used a program called Corel Painter to draw over each frame from it to completely and utterly radicalise its appearance, making something totally original out of it. It just so happened that it appeared very psychedelic in appearance! My tutor Samantha said, wow, I like it when she saw it in progress! So anyway, there we have it. Hope that you find it interesting!
