This is a recording of the May 9, 2024, Fair Housing Training which was sponsored by the City of Corvallis in partnership with the City of Albany and the Linn-Benton Rental Housing Association. Presented by Fair Housing Council of Oregon.
Federal, state, and local fair housing laws prohibit rental housing owners, property managers, and landlords from discriminating against certain groups in any aspect of residential renting activities, including advertising, screening, and on-going management. This session covers fair housing laws and responsibilities as they relate to individuals with criminal histories. Topics covered include disparate impact in the housing application process, the reasonable accommodation and modification process relating to the protected class of disability, and how housing providers can support applicants with criminal histories.
