"Nursing is an art; and if it is to be made an art, it requires as exclusive a devotion, as hard a preparation, as any painter's or sculptor's work.” --Florence Nightingale
In the accompanying video, our nurses and frontline staff share why they are so dedicated to the profession of nursing and to Group Health and our patients.
Tuesday, May 6th, marks the beginning of National Nurses Week. This year’s theme, “Nurses: Leading the Way,” recognizes how diverse the nursing profession is and how much they contribute to better health care results.
Group Health nurses are clinicians, administrators, researchers, educators, and policymakers.
Group Health has 1,603 medical assistants, advanced registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and registered nurses on staff, averaging almost 11 years of service at the cooperative.
According to the American Nurses Association, nursing is the nation’s largest health care profession with nearly 3 million employed professionals and is projected to grow faster than all other occupations.
“Thank you for your devotion to our patients and assuring their safe care every day,” says Barbara Trehearne, vice president of Clinical Excellence, Quality, Nursing Practice and Primary Care. “I’m proud of all the hard work that you all do.”
