Directed by Alan Perkins, this is a remembrance of the visionary who predicted, defined and then exploited popular culture in the last half of the 20th Century. His influence on and cultivation of the confluence of art, media, publicity and capital in fine and performing Arts, and his use of process ("The Factory") to replicate and monetize his whimsy and intuition made him a leading artscult figure in NYC and in the world. His death in 1987 of complications from a routine gallbladder surgery in New York stunned those worlds in which he easily moved and his original works have steadily increased in investment value in the first decade of the 21st century.
"Art is What you Can Get Away With". And you can Quote Him.
