Join the party celebrating the start of MAX service on Saturday, May 10!
Kick-off the start of MAX service with a ceremony at the new South Transit Center, and then ride the MAX to each of the stations for parties and entertainment.
The start of MAX service culminates the largest infrastructure project in the history of Fort Collins. MAX is the Front Range’s first bus rapid transit system and is funded through a variety of federal, state and local partners. A service of Transfort, MAX is the 20th route to support public transportation in Fort Collins and will be free to ride throughout the summer until August 25.
We encourage you to walk, ride a bicycle or Transfort to the different events. Park and ride spaces are available at select MAX stations and there is bicycle parking at every station. Additionally, all Transfort routes will be free to ride the day of the MAX World Premiere event.
The South Transit Center and Downtown Transit Center will also be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for customer service.
Launch Ceremony: Saturday, May 10, 10-11 a.m.
Join dignitaries from Washington, D.C., Denver and Fort Collins as they officially open the newly constructed South Transit Center and celebrate the start of MAX service with a ceremonial ribbon cutting starting at the STC, 4915 Fossil Blvd. First bus departs the STC at 11 a.m. sharp!
Transfort shuttle service will be provided from the Mall Transfer Point located on Stanford Road to the South Transit Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
MAX Station Parties: Saturday, May 10, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Each MAX station party is being coordinated and supported by a variety of public and private partners. Opening Day will offer six large station parties and eight MAX welcome stations. MAX Ambassadors will be available along the corridor to direct you to the next party and answer questions about MAX and other Transfort routes.
Station parties will have food, free entertainment, and MAX information. Specific locations, themes, and activities are detailed below.
Pick up a special event MAX Premiere Passport and have it stamped at each of the 14 station parties to be eligible to win special prizes. Each station will have passports available to participate and have a unique stamp to commemorate your visit. Complete the passport and submit it for a special drawing.
In addition to launching MAX service, Transfort is also rolling out a new rider information application in early May. Show your mobile device downloaded with the Ride Transfort app to a Transfort Ambassador at either the Downtown or South Transit Center and receive a free gift.
