This video reflects a collaboration between between filmmaker Donald Harrison and The Heidelberg Project in Detroit, as part of the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA)'s Many Voices project.
Inspired by Tyree Gyton's painting titled "Ups and Downs" at UMMA, Harrison recorded more than 100 interactive video portraits for this piece. These were captured through a unique mechanism – The Heidelberg Project Mobile Photo Video Booth – which Harrison designed and built with maker Robert Marshall. The booth captured people's faces on a green screen, interacting in real-time with digital effects and images from The Heidelberg Project.
