This view looks over a little pond by my house. The last of the ice melted off it on April 25. The next night we heard the wood frogs which I recorded for this time lapse soundtrack. Apparently they can survive freezing completely solid, and thaw out in the spring no worse for the wear. I saw fresh frog spawn in the water just a few days later (April 29). The spring peepers started their chorus a little later than the wood frogs, so I'm guessing the spawn is from the wood frogs.
