Meeting You is a performative installation for one spectator.
The spectator sits on a chair, facing a 16th-century portrait of a lady, at the end of a long table.
A light cycle creates an estranging optical effect: sometimes you can see only yourself, sometimes your reflection merges with the portrait and
sometimes the lady seems to float alone in the dark space. Meanwhile a text is played on headphones, about the impact of romantic encounters:
the things one can never remember and the things one cannot seem to forget.
This work was created at Dasarts, selected for the "Dasarts meets De Bank" Festival in 2007 and for the Kunstvlaai in Amsterdam in 2008.
