I’m not proposing that we all sell off our possessions this week, pool all our resources, and live together the way the early church did. It would be a good way to live in community, mind you. But that’s not the kind of commitment can be imposed on a person. You only get there when the vision of a more just and caring life becomes such an inspiration that it is possible to let go of the things you have been clinging to for a sense of security and identity.
