U.S. Army COL (Ret) Jill W. Chambers is a Service Disabled Veteran and survivor of the terrorist attack at the Pentagon on 9/11.
During her 30 years of service, she served 4 consecutive Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and was selected in 2010 as the sole recipient of the prestigious "Woman Of The Year" award from the Department of Defense and the SPWA.
This award recognized her for her invaluable contributions that ultimately led to the current cultural transformation of Military policies and attitudes about mental health.
In 2012 she was selected by AOL/Time Warner and PBS as one of 6 inaugural "Next Makers - Women Who Shape America." Her selection was a recognition of the pivotal role she played in ensuring the modern Military would recognize and properly care for our invisibly wounded Service members, many of whom are facing and overcoming Post Traumatic Stress and Mild Traumatic brain injuries.
Following her retirement she founded This Able Vet™ to continue her service to Veterans and Military families.
This Able Vet™focuses on Veteran Empowered Care™ providing Integrative Medicine via training and resources for Active Duty Military, Veterans and Military families.
