Amawakako Art Project is a group for thinking about river and water with people who live in the area where Katsura river flows. Every summer the group puts lights on the surface of Amawaka lake (or Amawaka-ko) looking like starry sky. There used to be five villages under the water. because Hiyoshi dam was constructed on the river, the residents were moved and the villages were sunk under water. So every light exactly shows a house where a family used to live. Through watching this installation art, the group wants you think about the relationship among people who get benefit/disadvantage of the dam.
