The photographic series "Empty scene" was shot in one of the zoos in Czech Republic. I was fascinated by the landscape and atmosphere of the place, where a carefully constructed environment served to create a special habitat for animals, and at the same time provided attractive views for the visitors. This space alludes to theatrical scenery. Viewers and performers are elaborately separated from each other but sometimes it is impossible to define who is behind the fence - animals become viewers and the zoo visitors become the object of watching. The roles change all the time and the scene boundaries become undefined. The scene is all around. Everything and everybody become stuck in the ambivalent landscape.
The set of two books was designed as a unified whole containing two parts of that share one title, theme and idea. Nothing is happening in the empty landscapes in the first part and the second small book includes pictures with animals and visitors, often engaged in some situation.
