Sustainable stormwater financing requires more than just coming up with the dollars: It requires bold decision-making, effective community engagement, and a realistic understanding of your community’s priorities. On Tuesday, May 13, 2014 the Environmental Finance Center Network hosted a webinar on Effective Financing Solutions: Paying for Stormwater and Green Infrastructure Projects. Slides from the webinar and a video recording are available here.
During this session, staff from the University of Maryland Environmental Finance Center (UMD EFC) shared the steps necessary to successfully finance stormwater and green infrastructure projects at the local level. Gleaning from EFC’s experience helping local governments in the Mid Atlantic find innovative ways to pay for stormwater and green infrastructure projects, presenters shared case studies, tools, and important steps to achieving local implementation, since it is at the local level where the most innovative, effective, and transformative financing programs are being developed and implemented.
