Short film written & directed by Kate Marzullo, starring Savannah Zelocchi and Brandon Ruling.
"Anne-Louise" is based on a character from my short film "Phoenix Song", who is in turn based on the real-life Anne Louise Boyvin d'Hardancourt Brillon de Jouy (known to her contemporaries as simply "Madame Brillon), a Renaissance Woman of her time -- 18th century France -- and a confidante/close friend of Benjamin Franklin. She was also married to an older man who treated her like crap and cheated on her openly. Anne-Louise was given to bouts of depression (noted in her many letters to and from Franklin) but lived to a ripe old age. I can only assume things got better after her husband kicked the bucket...
Anyway, I wrote this scene for the callbacks for the character of Anne-Louise for "Phoenix Song". We updated the time period to the 1950s to make it a little bit easier logistically, and we figured it's kind of an era-unspecific issue, amirite?
Song is "Hide & Seek" by Imogen Heap (used for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY).
