The two scenes performed by ASU Preparatory Academy are from the play In and Out of Shadows by author Gary Soto. The first scene is a song entitled "Camilla" sung by actor Nieves Norriega and supported by Anissa Sevilla and Julie Acero. The second scene can be referred to as "Teenage Love" and is performed by CeCe Moreno and Misael Lopez.
El Día de los Niños, El Día de los Libros (Children’s Day, Book Day)

The English Education Program in the Department of English presents the fourth annual Día De Los Niños / Día De Los Libros celebration of kids, language, and culture. Poet and Regents' Professor Alberto Ríos emcees, with special guests Gary Soto, Xavier Garza, Myrlin Hepworth, Aprilynne Pike, Tom Leveen, Bill Konigsberg, and Janette Rallison.
The event is for kids in 6-12th grades and attendees must be sponsored by their schools (teachers must register and accompany their students). If you would like your school to participate, please contact Jim Blasingame in the English Education Program:James.Blasingame@asu.edu or 480-965-3224.
