In the fall of 2013, I spent three months in South America; traveling from the north coast of Colombia to the southernmost border of Peru; ascending from below sea level to 4900 metres and passing through every landscape from (literally) breathtaking high-altitude pampas to Amazonian jungle to ancient, fertile valley floor.
I made lifelong friends, learned new things, pushed the limits of my physical strength, and even went on a couple of dates. I hope this compilation will encourage and inspire you to get out of your comfort zone and start adventuring!

The clips you see of children painting are from the month I spent in the Amazon volunteering with the Calanoa Foundation, an organization that focuses on bringing arts programs and resources to small indigenous communities.
