GROW UP - part 2
What does REAL spiritual maturity look like? Before we get to the answer, it’s important to consider what real maturity is not. Spiritual maturity is not developed merely through the amount of biblical knowledge you may or may not have; not defined by the number of years someone has walked with God; not determined by whether you have worked as a pastor or minister rather than a secular job like an IT specialist, a medical doctor, or an entrepreneur. Some of these things can certainly facilitate maturity but they are not definitive.
2 Peter 1:7 gives us the final destination of spiritual growth, “…7 Godliness leads to love for other Christians, and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone.” The question to determine one’s spiritual maturity shouldn’t be “How much do you know?” It should be “Whom do you love?”
Good question isn’t it? It sounds like the kind of question Jesus would ask you if He was here right now. I believe He is here. I believe He is asking.
