It was amazingly sunny in the north west of England yesterday and we decided to scout out locations for a future short film.
Recently there has been a lot of speculative talk about the new Panasonic GH4's dynamic range capabilities. Well, my camera (the GX7) uses the same sensor and I was resolved to proving the nay-sayers wrong. As I mentioned, the weather was extremely sunny and so this was the perfect day to test DR. You'll see that the camera performed extremely well. I shot flatly and graded in Premiere.
Note there has been some fine grain added to most of the shots. Also some of them look soft because I missed focus (amateur). Finally, Vimeo compresses pretty harshly. So here's a link to a bigger file: darkatommedia.com/uploads/Abandoned_Sizzler.mp4 (500mb)
Olympus 17mm f1.8 + Vivitar 28mm f2
Capa R1 rig + generic follow focus
No ND filter, so a lot of shots are shot with aperture closed beyond f11.
