MORPC's 2014 State of the Region luncheon took place Thursday, April 17 at the Hilton Columbus Downtown. The sold-out event drew over 750 of the region and state’s top political, business and civic leaders to celebrate our community’s accomplishments and address challenges.
During the event, MORPC executive director William Murdock unveiled a new project between MORPC, Columbus 2020 and ULI Columbus. insight2050 will provide objective data and tools to evaluate growth in Central Ohio. The resulting toolkit will help government, business and development leaders make informed choices for future growth and development. Calthorpe Associates, one of the nation's most experienced planning firms, is consulting on the project.
MORPC also presented its annual State of the Region Awards honoring community leaders who made extraordinary efforts in contributing to the welfare of Central Ohioans. This year's awards went to MORPC Board Chair Eric Phillips, Economic Development 411 (ED411) and Marjory Pizzuti of Goodwill Columbus. For more on this year's award winners see our press release.
