The following video documents the first iteration of LUNG. LUNG offers an intimate and meditative interaction that challenges relationships existing through platforms such as Facebook (connectivity of repetitive and numeric user profiles). A user connects with a stranger’s image through breathing as compressed oxygen is released through a nasal cannula at the rate of the video actor’s inhalation. Respiration is experienced in a vulnerable, focused and synced position. The project advocates for relationships with technology that are experimental and hyper-aware blending the separation between body, screen and body by enhancing another sense.
