Second silent video in a series created for FedEx to be displayed on large vertical panels at their FedEx Cup PGA tour events. FedEx wanted a hyper-realistic, all-CG box that they could drop golf equipment in in slow motion to help illustrate their One Rate box at tour events. I modeled, textured and rigged this box in C4D, paying special attention to the exposed, corrugated edge pattern, and used Mograph and Xparticles to drop the golf equipment in. This sequence is all CG and uses no camera footage whatsoever. I made two versions; one which closed after the equipment went in, and this one, which the client ultimately chose. One of the great advantages to using Cinema 4D for product shots like this is the total freedom to use any high-speed frame rate you like, and the ability to direct the color, lighting, position and movement of any elements as you see fit. You also end up with a reusable asset that can be easily repurposed at any time in the future, as opposed to a one-time shoot with an expensive in-camera solution such as Phantom HD. Client: Signature Advertising/Memphis. Role. Modeling, animation, rigging, texturing, lighting, final edit and deliverables. Software: Cinema 4D, After Effects, Photoshop, X-Particles.
