Odd to find a book by a cranky mystic, but this is one of them.
Barbara Ehrenrich is a social-activist perhaps best known for her book Nickel and Dimed. That book is about how the working poor struggle to survive on minimal income. She is a self-described atheist who has had (and describes in detail in this book) a couple of identifiably mystical experiences. She didn’t find them life changing; instead, she thought they were puzzling and even annoying. Her story (well worth reading) sets those experiences in a life focused on science and a drive to make the world more fair and just.
