KTLA ENT: RODRIGUEZ
An Oscar-winning documentary unearthed a stunning story: A rocker from the early 70's that didn't make it in the US, went back to being a construction worker. He had NO IDEA his music was HUGE in South Africa, and he was more famous there than Elvis. The rumor was he died... but out of nowhere, in 1998 he went to South Africa and played before THOUSANDS, and was an instant hit. Doug Kolk talked with the quiet phenom, now at 71 - who nearly sold out the Greek Theatre tonight. Jacquelyn Rodriguez produces, Michael Joseph James shoots/edits.
