Newark, NJ, embarked on education reform that allows parents to choose a school from a network of traditional public schools and charter schools. The network of schools is called One Newark, and parents utilize a web based system to select the school of choice for their children. The Superintendent of Newark Public Schools is hand selected by the governor of New Jersey.
