One day a gang of travellers knock on Bjorns door. They tell him that he was taken away as an infant by missionaries and the Norwegian government. We follow him on a road movie back into recent history, exposing racism and special Norwegian camps for travellers where the language romani was forbidden. He discovers a living culture where music and songs carry the traveller’s traditions.
After the premiere of the film, the Norwegian state awarded compensations to all travellers who had experienced mistreatment by the government.
Two of the traveller’s organisations rated the film six stars and recommended everyone to watch this film for exposing Norway’s dark history.
Nominated to Amanda for Best Norwegian Documentary and the People’s Award
