Mike Anderson — The Andersons: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Mike Anderson will discuss the company’s origins, recent growth and current composition, and plans for the future. Mike Anderson is chairman and chief executive officer of The Andersons, Inc. Mike began his career with The Andersons in 1978. He held various positions within the agriculture group including grain buyer, grain purchasing manager, grain division manager and vice president and general manager of the Grain Division. Between 1994 and 1996 he served as vice president and general manager of the Retail Group. In September 1996, he became the president and chief operating officer of The Andersons, Inc. He was named president and CEO in January 1999 and as chairman in May 2009. Mike graduated from Northwestern University in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in history and then achieved his MBA from Northwestern in 1975. From 1975 to 1978, he was an auditor for Arthur Young & Co., earning his CPA in 1976. Mike is on the board of directors of The Andersons, Inc. and First Energy Corp. He is a trustee for life of the YMCA of Greater Toledo. Mike also serves on the boards of the Toledo Community Foundation and Toledo Museum of Art. He is a member of the Ohio Business Roundtable and Rotary Club of Toledo. The Andersons, Inc. is a diversified company rooted in agriculture.
