AH23 is an evolving project born from the desire to explore a body’s possible dynamics within a small and raised space: a coffee table.
AH23 was liberally inspired by the White Rabbit, an ambiguous figure since being an intermediary to a fantastic world, but an absent-minded and hurrying figure as well that attracts Alice into its burrow and then ignores her till the end of the journey. AH23 puts on the failure of communication between man and woman. She alternates between nucleuses of movement performed on a low table and the action of undressing and getting dressed again while descending from the table itself, whilst he sits uninterested on the sofa behind her. The clothes are being changed continuously while the dance goes on repeatedly. The man looks elsewhere without paying attention to those smallest details that could reveal a possible solution. Alice has no other choice but to leave. She hangs up the phone and puts the key back into her pocket. The White Rabbit remains where he is.
AH23 is a project under construction that includes different kinds of drifts. Born as a dance performance conceived for a traditionally frontal audience, AH23 is based on an exact and repeatable choreographic score that is always consistent; however, the execution dynamics is contaminated by a performative attitude seeking to observe the place, which shifts the boundaries of dance by adapting them to the suggested solutions, be they theatrical, urban or different ones. The project consequently emerges as an open container that takes on various nuances of meaning and atmosphere, suggested by space and acting conditions.
