Ewout Kramer, HL7 FHIR pundit with Furore, presents his experiences with the SIIM hackdays held in May 2014. Given that his knowledge of DICOM (prior to SIIM) was near to nothing, it was an interesting experience. DICOM is structured differently than FHIR, and one of the main stumbling blocks in combining the two is the level of granularity of the data. Ewout discusses this aspect, as well as others, in this recorded presentation.
