Shakespeare Horror Story is a particular arrangement of Macbeth in a tragicomical way, where the movement takes the primary role. It is a dancing and masking performance whose roots are the poetry of silence.
The innovative Federico Bertozzi drama carves out the original Shakespearian writing of its fascinating lyricism in favour of a script of pure action.
It is a show of high visual impact where the scenography and videoart work together as to recall the atmosphere of a graphic novel.
But the real particular innovation lays on the fact that the whole performance is acted in complete silence, except for an original sound design that uses and reshapes the noises made by settings and by the deep breath of the performers under the masks that cover them 360°.
Full masks, precisely, conceived and produced for this purpose. The Character design comes from the collaboration of a very heterogeneous group of artists and designers: two sculptors, one fashion designer, one performer and one writer worked on each single character. The final effect is the extreme contrast between the bi-dimensional world recalled by the setting and the strong tridimension of the characters.
Independently from the role in the performed tragicomedy, each character has his own personality, movements and aesthetics and he expresses his personal world and philosophy through his body language. That is the real meaning of the whole show: a poetic consideration about the disability.
The drama does not roll following the original chronology of the Shakespearian writing but the variation are thought as to valorise the ultimate meaning of the famous blood tragedy. In the arrangement of Federico Bertozzi, Lady Macbeth has not the usual nefarious inspiring role but she becomes active in the murder : an unequivocal mark of the time changes and equality between genders. The thirst for power and the pitiless ambition become “intergender” and a new horrific family association is born.
In this social contract between the future king and the future queen the oppression instinct is generated. And moreover, in the conquer to the power the competitors multiply and the family trying to reach the maximum power become two. However, the Shakespeare Horror Story family is not patriarchal and the final debate is between two women: two ladies and one crown.
God save the Queens. God save the family
Dummies Project is a newborn union of artist and communication experts united under the artistic direction of Federico Bertozzi. The organization chart of the study consists of an initial and main core of performing artists and it then decided to expand involving experts in heterogeneous disciplines and languages such as fashion designers, sound and light designers, video makers, set designers, object designers, actors and more.
Dummies is the name for an original and performing design, is the name of all the family of these alive, beautiful and fun characters created by the imagination of the writer Federico Bertozzi (Flaiano Award 2002) with the collaboration of the actress and director Letizia Giangualano . The larval forms that draw the facial features are made from Atelier Charivari Larvae of Basel, one of the city's historic ateliers. They are therefore the original masks of the Swiss carnival, discovered and exported by Jaques Lecoq in his famous school in Paris.
Each Dummy is a collaborative effort of a mixed group of artists and designers. Sculptor Elena Carozzi intervened on Charivari masks by adding the head and hair and giving thus the performers the opportunity to act in tridimensional characters. The Dummies clothes are original creations of the designer Michela Loberto (Fragile Fashion Concept). The acting is entrusted to the Dummies Project's performer.

Actors and dancers from different academies led by actor and playwright Federico Bertozzi.
Federico graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts of the Piccolo Teatro of Milan and continued his studies with Jacques Lecocq himself. Other actors of the company have studied with formed students of the great French master so we might conclude that the matrix of Dummies is Lecoqian. But Dummies are much more than this: they are the result of an original and artfully blend of artistic contamination: a new and original experience, deeply influenced by the world of the dance, thanks to the specific contribute of the dancer and choreographer Elena Varesi.
